• By shooting 60 on the final day to record his maiden European Tour title in 2009, Rafael Cabrera-Bello became just the third player in European Tour history to fire this number and win. He follows Ian Woosnam (1990 Monte Carlo Open) and Jamie Spence (1992 European Masters).

• By recording 18 straight pars in the final day in 2008, Jeev Milkha Singh claimed the title and became just the second golfer to win a European Tour event after compiling 18 par figures in the last round. The Indian follows Sir Nick Faldo who achieved the feat in the 1987 Open Championship at Muirfield, to claim the first of his six Major Championships.

• Three-time Major champion, Padraig Harrington will be making his first appearance in the Austrian GolfOpen presented by Lyoness.

• Should José Manuel Lara make a successful defence of his crown he won 12 months ago, he would be the second Spanish player this season to win the same event in consecutive seasons, following Pablo Martin at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

• German amateur Max Kramer, made European Tour history in the 2006 tournament by becoming the first amateur to record an albatross. He achieved the feat at Fontana’s ninth hole in round one, using a six iron from 180 yards.
