Julien Quesne produced the round of his life on the final day of the Open de Andalucía Costa del Sol – and it looked like earning him the title.
The 31 year old Challenge Tour graduate produced an eight under par 64 at Aloha and on 17 under par was two clear of Matteo Manassero and Eduardo De La Riva, both of whom were fast running out of holes.
Having turned in 32, Quesne rolled in three birdies in a row from the 14th, finishing with a two-putt from over 60 feet at the long 16th.
He then struck his approach to the difficult last to seven feet and holed the putt to match Manassero’s course record.
