Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño made an early impression at the WGC – Cadillac Championship in Miami.
The Spaniard, a six time winner on The European Tour, initially looked solid in starting with three successive pars on the Blue Monster course at Trump Doral.
However, better was to come as Fernández-Castaño picked up shots on the par three fourth and par four fifth to reach two under.
On the same score was World Number Two and 14 time Major Champion Tiger Woods, who got off to a sizzling start.
Following a par on the par five tenth, Woods found his form with the putter, holing from 13 and 10 feet to join Fernández-Castaño and three others at the top of the leaderboard.
Mike Hendry, Thaworn Wiratchant and Keegan Bradley were also two under, with Matteo Manassero, Nicolas Colsaerts and Sergio Garcia among those a shot further back.
