Happy New Year!

European Tour Weekly’s first edition of 2014 sees us visit South Africa for the fourth playing of the Volvo Golf Champions. Durban Country Club plays host to The European Tour’s ‘Tournament of Champions’ for the second time and as always European Tour Weekly will be on the range to report all the latest news prior to the event.

The one and only Miguel Angel Jimenez turned 50 this week and ETW takes a look back at a career which has spanned over 30 years. Jimenez won the Hong Kong Open for the fourth time in December, which was his 20th European Tour title.

As always we shall take a look back at the last event on The European Tour. This week that means a return trip to South Africa for The Nelson Mandela Championship presented by ISPS Handa which was played at Mount Edgecombe Country Club before Christmas.

Undoubtedly the player of 2013 was Henrik Stenson, who finished the year with victory at the season ending DP WORLD TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP, DUBAI which cemented his position as number one on The Race to Dubai. ETW caught up with Stenson at home as he reflected on his unforgettable year.

Together with all of the latest news and statistics from the Tour, this completes another edition of European Tour Weekly.
