SUNDAY APRIL 26, 2015 – VOLVO CHINA OPEN

• His first European Tour International Schedule victory in his 26th European Tour event.

• Could move to just inside the top 120 in the Official World Golf Ranking from 247th.

• This victory beats his best previous European Tour performance of tied 11th in the 2013 Maybank Malaysian Open.

• Becomes the sixth first-time winner of the 2015 European Tour season. They are: Andy Sullivan (South African Open Championship Hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni), Gary Stal (Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship), Anirban Lahiri (Maybank Malaysian Open), Trevor Fisher Jnr (Africa Open), Jordan Spieth (Masters Tournament) and Wu Ashun (Volvo China Open).

• Becomes the first Chinese winner on The European Tour since Liang Wen-chong at the 2007 Singapore Masters

• Becomes the third Chinese player to win a European Tour event. He follows: Zhang Lian-wei (2003 Singapore Masters) and Liang Wen-chong (2007 Singapore Masters).

• Becomes the first Chinese player to win a European Tour event on home soil in the 49th European Tour event staged on Chinese soil.

• Victory comes in his eighth appearance in the Volvo China Open.

• Victory beats his previous best performance in the Volvo China Open of tied 50th in 2014.

• Becomes the third Chinese player to win the Volvo China Open since the event began in 1995. He follows: Chen Jun (1997) and Zhang Lian-wei (2003).

• Becomes the 21st different player to win the Volvo China Open from the 21 times the event has been played.

OTHER FACTS

• The ninth win this season by a player leading or sharing the lead going into the final round. (Of those nine, five of them have been in the last five European Tour events. They are: (George Coetzee (Tshwane Open), Richie Ramsay (Trophée Hassan II), Jordan Spieth (Masters Tournament), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Shenzhen International) and Wu Ashun (Volvo China Open).

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2017 season, should he take up his membership.

• The third non-member to win of the 2015 season. They are: Dustin Johnson (WGC – Cadillac Championship), Jordan Spieth (Masters Tournament) and Wu Ashun (Volvo China Open).
