DP World Tour winners Malcolm Mackenzie, David Park and Carl Suneson headlined 16 players who made it through to the ISPS HANDA Senior Open via Qualifying on Monday.
Qualifiers were held at Blairgowrie over the Rosemount and Lansdowne courses, at Glenbervie Golf Club and at Stirling Golf Club, with professionals and amateurs battling to make into Europe's only Senior Major, which begins on Thursday at The Gleneagles Hotel.
On the Rosemount Course, Mackenzie incredibly went birdie-eagle-eagle from the ninth in a 66 that saw him secure his place at seven under.
Mackenzie's DP World Tour win at the 2002 Open de France came in his 509th start, a record for most starts before securing a maiden win that still stands today and he will now be looking to write another chapter in his incredible career over the King's Course.
Joining him at seven under were fellow Englishman Sam Little - a three-time winner in the the space of four events in 2011 on the HotelPlanner Tour - and Japan's Shinichi Yokota.
Dane Knud Storgaard finished at six under, with the final place available going to Australian five-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Mathew Goggin after a play-off.
On the Lansdowne Course, England's Sean Whiffin and American Todd Sapere finished at four under, a shot ahead of Welshman Park, who lost in a play-off on his DP World Tour debut but won the very next week at the 1999 European Grand Prix.
English amateur Will Dugdale and Wales' Richard Dinsdale were top of the pile at four under at Glenbervie, one ahead of Spaniard Suneson, winner of the 2007 Open de Saint-Omer.
Kiwi Michael Long took the fourth place on offer at Glenbervie after a play-off.
At Stirling, Spain's Luis Portela finished on top at four under, a shot clear of Canadian Gordon Burns and Welsh amateur Kyron Sullivan.
India's Jyoti Randhawa, a prolific winner in his homeland and five-time DP World Tour runner-up, prevailed in a play-off to take the final spot.
