Lawrie, who won the Scottish Senior Open en route to winning the Staysure Tour Rookie of the Year award, began his final round at the inaugural Murhof Legends – Austrian Senior Open with an eagle at the opening hole.

The 1999 Open Champion was perfectly placed in the middle of the fairway on the par four first and fired his approach shot into the green. The ball took one bounce before dropping down the flag stick and into the bottom of the cup to start his round with an eagle-two.

The hole-out from the fairway gave the Scot a confident start to his final round in Austria as he recorded a seven under par 65 to finish solo second behind runaway winner José Coceres.

Lawrie’s eagle was voted the Staysure Tour Shot of the Year with Markus Brier’s chip-in from the bunker at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters finishing in second place, and the Scotsman’s approach at the seventh hole during the final round at the Scottish Senior Open taking third.

Entrants who voted for the winning shot for the Staysure Tour Shot of the Year were put into a prize draw to win a £500 Crew Clothing voucher, the Official Clothing Partner of the Staysure Tour, and David Adam was the lucky winner picked at random.
