Defending MCB Tour Championship winner Colin Montgomerie kick-started this year's tournament with a press conference and fellow professionals have been entertaining guests during the final week of the Senior Tour season.
Montgomerie, the defending John Jacobs Trophy holder, was joined by soon-to-be-crowned Rookie of the Year Magnus P Atlevi, tournament host Marc Farry and two-time MCB Tour Championship winner David Frost.
Also in attendance were Jean Jacques Vallet, CEO of Constance Hotels & Resorts, Dominic Provencal, Head of Individuals and Business Banking at MCB, Ashwin Ramjeet, Travel Services Manager at Air Mauritius, Gert Puchtler, General Manager of Constance Belle Mare Plage, and Kevin Ramkaloan, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.
Following the press conference, players took to the beach for a fun challenge as they hit special-made golf balls at a target floating in the Indian Ocean. But the Senior Tour players were upstaged by Sebastien Pilot, Golf Director at Constance Belle Mare Plage, who was the only person successful in finding the target.
Jean-François Remesy, winner of the Open de France on two occasions, hosted members of the media at a the golf course as participants attempted to hit golf balls towards a specially-placed pin next to the lake at the 18th hole.
The fun and games will come to an end on Friday when the focus moves to the first round of the tournament as 48 of the Senior Tour's finest tee it up for a €450,000 prize fund.
