The Englishman, who earned one of the five cards available at Pestana Golf Resort in February, won €206,406 in prize money in his first year on the Staysure Tour, capturing two titles in the process.

His first victory came at Woburn when he won the Travis Perkins Masters by two strokes after rounds of 66-65-73 and his second title came in Spain when he defeated Ryder Cup legend Miguel Angel Jiménez in a play-off to win the Costa Blanca Benidorm Senior Golf Masters.

In addition to his victories, he finished runner-up at the Scottish Senior Open and tied fifth at the Paris Legends Championship and recorded six further top-20 results. Streeter finished €28,457 ahead of David Shacklady in the race to become Rookie of the Year.

“It’s amazing to be Rookie of the Year,” said Streeter. “I set myself three goals at the start of the year, and those were to finish inside the top 20 on the Order of Merit, win an event and be Rookie of the Year. So to achieve those three goals is fantastic. I’m over the moon.

“Going into the final week of the year, it was nice to know that my card was secured and that I wouldn’t have to go to Qualifying School again in 2019. It’s a tough place to go to.

“It has been a fantastic year. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and to have been made to feel so welcome by everyone on this Tour has just made it that more special.”
