The European Senior Tour season draws to a close this week in the picturesque surroundings of Mauritius.
AlthoughConstance Belle Mare Plage, a European Tour Destination, is a familiar venue for our members, there is a new look to the host of the MCB Tour Championship.
After a six-week makeover was completed earlier this year, the resort has unveiled its new look both on the Legend Course, where members will compete for the sixth edition of the tournament, and at the hotel.
The Legend Course, designed by South African golfer Hugh Baiocchi, was opened in 1994, and has played host to the Senior Tour since 2010. It has seen the likes of David Frost, Tom Lehman and Colin Montgomerie, who is defending his title this year, take home the covetedMCB Tour Championshiptrophy.
The decision was made to renovate some of the course, and the first, second, fourth, ninth and 18th holes have been remodelled, reshaped and raised. New irrigation systems have been put in place and there are now water features on every hole.
The redesign was overseen by Rodney Wright, designer of the Links Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage, and offers a challenging and unique experience for golfers of all abilities.
Constance Belle Mare Plage’s resort hotel has remained true to its essence, bringing the natural elements of stone and wood to the fore, becoming a symbol of Mauritian hospitality.
For non-golfers the resort has plenty to offer with a number of restaurants on site, in addition to U Spa by Constance, which has been renovated with state-of-the-art furnishings.
