    Meet Nicholas

    KEN

Born and raised in Kenya’s Kajaido District, where golf is practically unheard of. First took up the game aged 21, when he began working in the pro shop at his home club in Nairobi, Muthaiga Golf Club, the current venue for the Barclays Kenya Open. Friend and mentor Charles Farrar taught him how to play the game, and also encouraged to turn professional in 2006, when he was named Kenya’s Golfer of the Year. First win as an amateur came at the Windsor Classic in 2003, since when he has represented Kenya a total of six times in Zone Six. Made the cut for the first time on his fourth appearance at the Barclays Kenya Open, courtesy of opening rounds of 67 and 70. Is now self-taught, and cites Tiger Woods as his golfing hero.
