Benjamin Follett-Smith won the season opening Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open back in February, and his most recent results have seen him consolidate his place inside the top 20 in the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The Zimbabwean has finished inside the top ten in each of his last three starts, finishing in tied fourth at the Blot Open de Bretagne and tied tenth at both the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge and the Italian Challenge Open. He’s the current Number Seven on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and after taking a week off last week, he arrives in Germany fresh for another charge at a fourth consecutive top ten.

Maximilian Rottluff secured a memorable first win on the Challenge Tour back in May at the UAE Challenge to ensure his playing privileges for the foreseeable future. That week, the German signed for a course record 63 on moving day before playing the back nine on Sunday three under par to win by one shot ahead of Frenchman Ugo Coussaud. A tied 29th finish at the B-NL Challenge Trophy is his best result since, something he’ll be hoping to improve on this week.

The outsider

Tomas Gouveia is in some of the best form of his career to date having made three cuts in his last three outings. He shared tenth place in the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge at the start of this month, finished in a tie for 27th the week after at the Italian Challenge Open and followed it with a career-best finish last week at the Euram Bank Open. There, the Portuguese look assured throughout the week, recording rounds of 67-70-64-68 to finish in a share of fifth place.
