Chris Wood entered the HotelPlanner Tour winners circle last week with an emotional one-stroke victory at the Italian Challenge Open. The Englishman carded just two bogeys at Golf Nazionale, after an impressive season on the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Tour, where he picked up three wins to earn HotelPlanner Tour status. The win in Italy propelled the three-time DP World Tour winner into the top five on the Rankings, despite it being his first appearance on the HotelPlanner Tour this season.

Local Boy: Pablo Ereno

HotelPlanner Tour rookie Pablo Ereno will be looking for his maiden title this week after an impressive start on the Road to Mallorca. The Spaniard missed the cut at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship on the DP World Tour last week, but showed promising signs, carding a three under 69 on Friday.

The 23-year-old currently sits in 12th position on the Rankings, thanks to a tied for fourth finish at the CIRCA Cape Town Open and a tied for third place at the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open and will be looking for victory on home soil to bolster his position inside the life-changing promotion places.

Outsider: Sebastian Friedrichsen

Sebastian Friedrichsen has had a fantastic start to the 2026 season , with fifth and eighth placed finishes in his last two starts.. The 23-year-old Dane currently sits 16th on the Road to Mallorca and has a total of seven top ten finishes in his HotelPlanner Tour career and will be looking to continue his impressive form ahead of his home event in Denmark next week. Friedrichsen has proven that he is capable of low scoring rounds and carded three eagles across the week at the DP World PGTI Open.
