David Law and Darius van Driel head a crop of European Challenge Tour players who are in a prime position after Round Three of European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort – a European Tour Destination.
With strong winds of up to 25 miles per hour making scoring very difficult in Girona, Law’s two under par round of 68 on the Tour Course was one of the best of the day, and moved the 25 year old into tied fifth place – just two shots off the lead.
Joining Scotland’s Law on seven under par overall is Holland’s van Driel, who made three birdies and three bogeys to post a level par score of 70 – also on the Tour Course.
The 27 year old, who finished 34thon the 2016 Road to Oman, will be accompanying five-time European Tour winner Joost Luiten at the World Cup of Golf in two weeks’ time and is well placed to become a European Tour member with 54 holes left of this year’s Final Stage.
One shot further back on six under par is Germany’s Sebastian Heisele, who battled the elements to sign for a two over par round of 72 and claim a share of eighth place.
Julien Guerrier, who came close to earning a European Tour card at the eleventh hour after producing some final round heroics at the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final in Oman last week, is four shots off the lead on five under par, and is also well placed at the halfway stage of this season’s Q-School.
