Marcel Siem, a four-time European Tour winner, finished in 15th position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings to secure his return to the top tier for the 2022 season.
The 41-year-old finished seventh in the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2014 and has made 470 European Tour appearances but lost his card in 2018.
The German ended a seven year winless drought this season after securing a maiden Challenge Tour victory at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, which also earnt him a spot at The Open. Siem finished in an impressive tie for 15th at Royal St George's Golf Club after admitting he considered playing on the Challenge Tour that week instead in an attempt to consolidate his place in the top 20 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
Siem took advantage of European Tour invites for the remainder of the season but narrowly missed out on DP World Tour membership via his Race to Dubai Ranking, and therefore teed it up in the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final in a bid to earn his card.
The German carded rounds of 71-72-68-71 to finish in a tie for 15th place at the season finale and 15th in the Rankings to earn 2022 DP World Tour playing rights.
