Profile: Antoine Rozner

Antoine Rozner did not waste any time making a name for himself on the European Tour, playing his way into a play-off at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in just his second start as a European Tour member.

The Frenchman would eventually lose to an eagle from champion Rasmus Højgaard on the third extra hole but not before a thrilling birdie exchange between the pair at Heritage Golf Club.

His Indian Ocean performance will come as little surprise to those who charted Rozner’s 2019 Road to Mallorca season.

In a similar vein to his standout European Tour start, Rozner was quick off the blocks in his second season as a Challenge Tour player, recording back-to-back victories in his second and third appearances to all but secure his European Tour card for the following season.

The two-week title blitz began in Spain at the Challenge de España, where he surged to a four-shot victory after three birdies and an eagle in a four-hole back nine stretch on the final day at Izki Golf.

The University of Missouri–Kansas City alumni began the final day three strokes behind overnight leader Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez, but marched ahead after signing for a bogey-free round of 66, six under par, to seal his first Challenge Tour victory.

The red-hot streak continued the following week at the Prague Golf Challenge, with the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup participant becoming the first player in seven years to secure victory in consecutive weeks by strolling to a seven-shot triumph in the Czech capital.

While he failed to attain one more victory needed to earn immediate graduation to the European Tour under the three-win rule, Rozner consistently contended throughout the remainder of the season, adding four more top ten finishes to his record before the year was out.

Renowned for his ball-striking ability, Rozner ended the season in 8th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and is tipped for big things as he looks to build on the sublime start to his debut European Tour season.
