The Road to Mallorca Rankings: one event to go

The year-long Road to Mallorca Rankings will reach its conclusion this week with the season-ending Challenge Tour Grand Final at T-Golf & Country Club where the final standings will be decided.

Marcel Schneider

Germany’s Marcel Schneider currently leads the way with 95,088 points, just under 5,000 points ahead of Spain’s Pep Angles, who leapt to second place with his victory at the Andalucía Challenge de Cádiz last week.

English duo Richard Mansell and Matt Ford sit third and fourth, respectively, while Italian Challenge Open Eneos Motor Oil Champion Hurly Long currently completes the top five with 61,829 points.

Ondrej Lieser, who made history by becoming the first player from the Czech Republic to win on the European Challenge Tour when he emerged victorious at the Andalucía Challenge de España, is best-placed to unseat one of the top five, as he currently lies sixth on the Road to Mallorca Rankings with 54,344 points.

With 62,000 points being awarded to the winner this week, anyone can still secure a place in the top five on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, a finish which will earn them additional playing opportunities on the European Tour in 2021.

Welshman David Boote is the last man in to this week’s Grand Final, lying 54th on the Rankings, but even he could still earn a spot in the top five with victory at T-Golf & Country Club.

The top 45 available players are teeing it up this week and with no cut, it is all to play for across all four days of tournament play for every single player.

Fans will be able to keep up to date with hole-by-hole scoring on europeantour.com, action clips on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and daily highlights shows airing every day in territories across the world.
