Three to Watch: Made in Esbjerg Challenge

After returning from representing Norway at the Olympics Kristian Krogh Johannessen is still searching for his maiden European Challenge Tour title however has been consistently finishing in the top 20 throughout the 2021 schedule. Recording a tied ninth place finish at the Limpopo Championship in South Africa, a tied fifth place finish at the Dormy Open in Sweden, a tied second place finish at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge having lost to Santiago Tarrio in a four-hole play-off and most recently a tied ninth place finish at the Kaskáda Golf Challenge in Czech Republic. The 26-year-old will be looking forward to returning to Scandinavia and competing in Denmark for the first time since 2019.

Marcus Helligkilde is back on home soil in Denmark this week after a sensational 23 under par total at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge to secure his maiden European Challenge Tour title. The 24-year-old will be looking to keep his consistency flowing in Denmark having proven how solid and consistent he is in Scandinavia with a second-place finish at the Range Servant Challenge by Hinton Golf in May and a 25th place finish on the main European Tour at the Made in HimmerLand presented by FREJA.

John Axelsen recorded an impressive 17th place finish the last time the Dane was on home soil at the Made in HimmerLand presented by FREJA on the main European Tour in May and will be looking to capatilise on his home advantage in Esbjerg this week. Having finished in tied 21st place at the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge last week recording his second-best finish of the 2021 schedule, the 23-year-old will be looking to keep his momentum going and secure a solid finish in his first event of the Danish Swing.
