Euan Walker will tee it up on the DP World Tour for the 2026 Race to Dubai after putting three years of near misses behind him to earn a maiden promotion from the HotelPlanner Tour.
The Scot recorded three third-place finishes and one other top ten on the 2025 Road to Mallorca, ending the year 14th on the season-long Rankings to make sure of graduation.
Walker had been close to achieving his goal of promotion to Golf’s Global Tour in each of the last three seasons, agonisingly finishing 24th, 26th and 25th from 2022 to 2024, with the top 20 earning one of the life-changing cards on offer.
The 30-year-old arrived at Club de Golf Alcanada - the venue for the season-ending Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A – sitting inside the promotion places in 17th, and set the early pace in Mallorca with seven under par 65 on day one.
Walker would eventually end the week in third place, a result that saw him climb three spots to 14th in the Rankings, and he says that years of hard work and perseverance were key to coming back each year.
“This has been years of hard work trying to get here,” he said. “I've been so close so yeah, it's brilliant to finally make it into the top 20. I just never gave up.
“Every time I've been to the Grand Final and I've not quite made it, I've gone away and the week after I thought, what am I going to do? Am I going to keep playing golf, first of all? The answer has always been, yes, I want to keep playing golf. You know, I enjoy doing this.
“Every shot counts. Every tournament I've played, every point that I've gained across the course of the season has all added up and it could have made the difference in the end.”
Walker is yet to make his first appearance on the 2026 Race to Dubai, but when he does, he’ll continue to use the mantra that has paid off over the past few years.
“I've just got to keep doing the same thing next year,” he added.
“I need to keep working hard, keep evaluating my game, see what I can improve and keep persevering the way I have. That's probably what my game's built on.”
