MJ Daffue secured a second win in as many months on the 2026 HotelPlanner Tour to hit the summit of the Road to Mallorca Rankings for the first time.
The South African, who earned a breakthrough win on home soil in the NTT DATA Pro-Am brought to you by Standard Bank last month, added a second title at last week’s DP World PGTI Open to move into pole position through five events of the 29-tournament schedule.
Daffue sat third prior to his victory in India but now has a commanding lead at the top of the Rankings as he looks to secure full playing privileges on the DP World Tour for the first time in his career.
Incredibly Daffue has only made two cuts in 2026, however has turned both opportunities to play the weekend into victory, amassing 640 points in the process, with Englishman Will Enefer in second place on 372 points.
Daffue will secure automatic promotion to Golf’s Global Tour should he earn a third win on the 2026 Road to Mallorca.
MJ Viljoen (355 points) and Deon Germishuys (305 points) make it three South Africans in the top four of the early Rankings, with Viljoen winning the season-opening SDC Open and Germishuys recording two top tens in his first four starts.
American Davis Bryant is yet to tee it up on the HotelPlanner Tour in 2026 but sits fifth on 232 points following several strong performances on the DP World Tour already this season.
Sweden’s Christoffer Blomstrand (220 points), Spaniards Pablo Ereno (209 points) and Santiago Tarrio (192 points), and Frenchman Maxence Giboudot (185 points) are unmoved in the Rankings and occupy sixth to ninth place respectively.
India’s Saptak Talwar and American Jhared Hack both impressed at Classic Golf & Country Club last week, sharing second place, one shot behind eventual winner Daffue. The duo, who have both found form in 2026 on the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), share tenth on 180 points following the co-sanctioned event in Delhi.
Max Kennedy from Ireland is 12th on 159 points, Zimbabwe’s Kieran Vincent is three points behind in 13th, South African Bryce Easton (150 points) is 14th and Englishman Nathan Kimsey, who won the HotelPlanner Tour’s Rankings back in 2022, currently occupies the final promotion place in 15th on 149 points.
The Road to Mallorca returns from May 7-10, with the Italian Challenge Open taking place at Golf Nazionale.
