Danish Golf Challenge: Three to Watch

Pablo Ereno is the latest winner on the Road to Mallorca after an exciting finish at Fontanals Golf Club in the Challenge de Catalunya. As the European swing continues, the HotelPlanner Tour arrives in Denmark for this week’s Danish Golf Challenge. Here are three players to look out for…

Form Horse: Jhared Hack

Jhared Hack’s incredible top-ten streak continued last week at the Challenge de Catalunya as the American once again earned his way into this week’s event. Rounds of 69-65-68-68 saw Hack finish on 18 under par and in a tie for ninth, meaning its seven from seven for top-tens in events this year on the Professional Golf Tour of India and the HotelPlanner Tour. The 36-year-old, who currently sits eight in the Road to Mallorca Rankings, will be wanting to extend that streak this week in Odense, and not have to rely on invites to prolong his stay in Europe.

Local Boy: Hamish Brown

It was the final hurdle that felled Hamish Brown last week, as last week’s local boy Pablo Ereno made birdie on the 72nd hole to force a play-off with Brown, which the Spaniard then won. That shouldn’t detract from Brown’s great form this year – his great finish in Spain was preceded by a 16th place finish in Italy the week before. Brown graduated from the Road to Mallorca in 2024 but failed to keep his card on the DP World Tour last year. Sitting at seventh in the Ranking currently, he will be hoping he can boost his chances of jumping up to Golf’s Global Tour this week on home soil.

Outsider: Will Porter

Tartan Pro Tour player Will Porter makes it into the field this week off the back of an invite but will be one to look out for. The Scot made his first start on the Road to Mallorca this season through an invite at the Italian Challenge Open two weeks ago, finishing fourth at 18 under par to earn his way into the Challenge de Catalunya, where he finished in a tie for 27th on 13 under par. Just these two events have him 34th on the Road to Mallorca and in the hunt for playing status on the HotelPlanner Tour or above.
