DP World PGTI Open – Three to Watch

The 2026 Road to Mallorca arrives in Delhi this week for the DP World PGTI Open, a co-sanctioned event between the HotelPlanner Tour and the DP World Professional Golf Tour India (PGTI.) Here are three players to keep an eye on in India…

Form Horse: MJ Daffue

South African MJ Daffue makes the trip to India for the DP World PGTI Open after securing his maiden HotelPlanner Tour victory at the NTT Data Pro-Am brought to you by Standard Bank at Fancourt Golf Estate. Daffue secured the title with a closing eagle in George and will be looking to emulate that success in Asia this week. The 37-year-old’s win saw him climb to third place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, and with countryman and current Number One, MJ Viljoen, not in the field this week, he could better his position.

Local Boy: Saptak Talwar

Saptak Talwar was victorious at last week’s Indorama Ventures Open Golf Championship on the PGTI after carding rounds of 68-71-69-70 for a ten under par total in Ahmedabad. The 27-year-old, who was born and raised in Delhi, propelled himself to the top of the PGTI’s Order of Merit with that result having placed tenth at the DP World Players Championship 2026 powered by Urbana in his only other start in India this season. Talwar is no stranger to the HotelPlanner Tour either, having featured 18 times on the Road to Mallorca in 2025, with his highest finish to date a tied 14th place finish in the Irish Challenge.

Outsider: Pedro Figueredo

Portugal’s Pedro Figueiredo found some early-season form by finishing in a six-way tie for third place in his last outing at the Jonsson Workwear Durban Open, ending the week on 13 under par, three shots behind the eventual winner, Oliver Bekker. That result came off the back of a successful 2025 which saw Figueiredo finish 38th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, which was kick-started by a tied sixth place finish at Classic Golf & Country Club in Delhi this time last year. The 34-year-old will be looking to replicate or even better that this time around, as he bids to climb from 21st place on the 2026 Road to Mallorca Rankings.
