The US PGA Championship gets under way this week at Aronimink Golf Club, and the field is littered with former HotelPlanner Tour players.
There are 33 former members in total, with class of ’24 graduate Kristoffer Reitan in the best form going into the week. Reitan, who made the cut in his Masters Tournament debut last month, comes into the second major of the year having won last week’s Truist Championship on the PGA TOUR. In doing so, the Norwegian became the first HotelPlanner Tour graduate to win a signature event, with Matt Fitzpatrick having previously been the first HotelPlanner Tour alumni to win one of the PGA Tour’s $20million purse events. It is Reitan’s debut at the US PGA Championship, the only major he is yet to have played.
There are four other players making their US PGA Championship debut, most notably Alex Fitzpatrick. The younger of the Fitzpatrick brothers, the 2023 Road to Mallorca graduate has had a meteoric rise this season, gaining his PGA TOUR card by winning with brother Matt at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, before finishing tied for ninth at the Cadillac Championship and solo fourth at the Truist Championship. Englishman Dan Brown, American Jordan Gumberg, and Adrien Saddier from France are also making their debut in the second major of the year.
For 2024 graduates Angel Ayora and Mikael Lindberg, this week will be their very first appearance in a Major Championship. Ayora continued his fine form on the HotelPlanner Tour by finishing 20th in the Race to Dubai last year, while Lindberg, part of the class of ’22 and ’24, earned his spot in the field by winning the Turkish Airlines Open two weeks ago on Golf’s Global Tour.
All former HotelPlanner Tour players who earned their spot on the PGA Tour via the DP World Tour are in the field this week, including 2023 and 2024 Road to Mallorca ranking winners Marco Penge and Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen. They join Swede Alex Noren, and Englishmen John Parry and Jordan Smith in this week’s field.
More familiar faces who once competed on the HotelPlanner Tour will be looking to compete for the Wanamaker Trophy, including two-time winner Brooks Koepka. Top ten golfers Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose will hope to be in the mix come Sunday, as well as European Ryder Cup players Robert MacIntyre and the Hojgaard brothers Nicolai and Rasmus.
Other former HotelPlanner Tour members in the field include the South African contingent of Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Garrick Higgo, Casey Jarvis and Jayden Schaper. Kiwi’s Ryan Fox and Daniel Hillier will also be in Pennsylvania.
More European names make up the final former HotelPlanner Tour competitors, including Belgian Thomas Detry, Germans Martin Kaymer and Matti Schmid, Englishmen Aaron Rai and Matt Wallace, Austrian Bernd Wiesberger and Tom McKibbin from Northern Ireland.
The PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club will take place from May 14-17, 2026.
