Filip Mruzek is looking for a second win of the 2026 Road to Mallorca season at the Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge this week when he tees it up at Kaskáda Golf Resort.
The Czech golfer currently sits in 14th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings after his win in Austria last month, where he carded a closing 65 to win by one-stroke in Austria.
After a fourth-place finish in last year’s edition of the Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge, Mruzek is relishing the thought of taking on a home tournament as a HotelPlanner Tour winner.
“It’s nice to be here,” he said. “It’s nice to play in a home event. I have recent memories here, from last year especially.
“I like the golf course, I like the place, it’s good to be home with some familiar faces. Hopefully I have some crowds in support this week.
“Kaskáda is one hell of a golf course, it gives you an opportunity to play aggressive. My goal is always to hit as many fairways and as many greens in regulation, but it’s good to know that you can miss in some spots and still manage to put it close to the green.”
Mruzek, the highest ranked Czech golfer in the Official Golf World Rankings, showed his class on his way to his maiden HotelPlanner Tour victory at the Interwetten Open last month and will be looking to replicate his success this week after some time off ahead of the German Challenge last time out.
“It was the best week at a golf course in my life,” he added. “I got to celebrate with my family, and my dog. It was nice. You fight for it for ten years and I’ve had a couple of top tens. You know it’s going to happen because it is what you practice for. It was a great moment.
“I missed the two France events and then played in The Open qualifier. I didn’t play bad, I just didn’t make it unfortunately. I thought I had a good chance, but you just never know, there will be another chance next year for sure.
“I’ve done some work with my dad over the last couple of weeks, he’s my coach, and it was the first time I’d seen him in three months. I had a good time with the family.
“I want to perform the best every single week, regardless if it’s home or away. This week is special, my friends and my dad will maybe show up, I have my wife on my bag this year, so we will see. Having a good week at home is good, for sure.
“It’s my childhood dream to play on the DP World Tour. The challenge now is to be able to keep fighting to keep my spot inside the top 15 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and fight for my dream.”
Mruzek is joined in the field this week by several high-profile names, including two-time DP World Tour winner Lee Slattery, Matthew Southgate and Yannik Paul.
