NBO Golf Classic Grand Final - Tournament History

2017 will see the stunning Greg Norman-designed Al Mouj Golf host the Challenge Tour’s season finale for the third time following a dramatic conclusion to the 2016 Road to Oman.

Bernd Ritthammer's third victory of the season was not quite enough to overhaul Jordan Smith at the top of the Road to Oman Rankings, while there was a nervous wait at the other end of the leaderboard as the last few spots in the top 16 - and graduation to the European Tour - were finalised.

In 2015, Ricardo Gouveia emphatically underlined his status as Road to Oman Rankings winner with a one-shot victory, in the process smashing Edoardo Molinari’s record for most prize money won in a single Challenge Tour season.

This will be the Challenge Tour’s fifth visit to Muscat, with Roope Kakko and Max Orrin the winners in 2013 and 2014 respectively, when the tournament was the penultimate event on the schedule before it assumed headline billing from 2015 onwards.
