Rolex Trophy - Tournament Summary

Rolex returns as title sponsors of the second tournament to be held in Switzerland, the elite 40-man Rolex Trophy, which will again be played at Golf Club de Genève for the 20th consecutive year. France’s Julien Quesne produced a memorable victory last year, as he took advantage of the injury suffered in the third round of then-leader Robert Coles to take the title. Watched by his family, girlfriend and coach on his 29th birthday, Quesne shot a closing round of 66 to see off Italian Edoardo Molinari by one stroke. His victory, allied to a further seven top ten finishes, helped Quesne to eighth place in the final Rankings and enabled him to join his close friend Thomas Levet on The European Tour. Quesne will be hoping to match the success tasted by many of his fellow former Rolex Trophy champions, which include the Swedish duo of Michael Jonzon and Alexander Noren and Scotland’s Marc Warren, all of whom subsequently triumphed on The European Tour – with Warren winning the 2007 Omega Mission Hills World Cup in tandem with Colin Montgomerie.
