The Hainan Open and Hangzhou Open boast increased Road to Mallorca Ranking points, with 2,750 available rather than the regular 2,000, as well as an increased prize fund.

The scenic venue, which will host its seventh HotelPlanner Tour event in October, has a tropical climate and attractive surroundings, making the event increasingly popular among the Tour’s members.

It was Renato Paratore who was victorious at Sanya Luhuitou last year, overcoming Maximilian Steinlechner in a play-off after the pair finished 17 under par. A play-off was also needed for Hamish Brown to win the 2024 event on Hainan Island. German Alexander Knappe, South African Erik van Rooyen, Fin Kalle Samooja and Italian Francesco Laporta have also tasted victory in Sanya previously..

Danny Dai, General Manager of Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club, said: “On behalf of all the members of the club, I am deeply honoured and excited about this opportunity.”

“As the venue that is hosting the tournament for a third time, this recognition stems from years of meticulous work and the industry’s trust in us.

“We will prepare with high standards, provide comprehensive support throughout the process, and offer warm service to deliver a high-quality international golf event. We sincerely invite global stars and fans to gather in Sanya and usher in a new era together.”

HotelPlanner Tour Director, Jamie Hodges, said, “We are delighted to return to Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club for this year’s Hainan Open.

“It is a wonderful venue, and they have been excellent hosts during our previous visits. I look forward to continuing our relationship with Mr Dai, and everyone at Sanya Luhuitou during our time with them at the start of October.”

The 2026 Hainan Open will take place on 8-11 October.
