2016 marked the inaugural edition of the Swedish Challenge hosted by Robert Karlsson as a Challenge Tour event, though the tournament at Katrineholm Golf Club has been a Nordic League event since 2011 – also the year of the Challenge Tour’s last visit to the country until last year.
Swedish golf has a long and proud history on the Challenge Tour, most notably Henrik Stenson’s rise since winning the Rankings in 2000, with his long-overdue first Major victory at the 2016 Open Championship a memorable highlight for all golf fans.
