The Swiss Challenge presented by ASG first featured on the Challenge Tour in 2000 and became a permanent part of the schedule in 2006, with Golf Sempachersee once again hosting in 2017 as it has done every year since 2010.
Alexander Knappe’s victory last year helped propel the German towards the top of the Road to Oman Rankings as he finished the year in third spot and graduated to the European Tour, while another notable former winner, Rafa Cabrera Bello, acquitted himself admirably on his Ryder Cup debut last October.
