The Challenge Series 2013 - Episode Seven

Halfway through the season and 2013 is fast becoming a classic on The Challenge Series as we continue to showcase all that is good and great about the second tier of European golf.

In a campaign notable for the rise of our American contingent, success at this level has already propelled both Peter Uihlein and Brooks Koepka to the main European Tour.

Episode seven sees the next generation of World class golfers descend on Lucerne in Switzerland to compete for the prestigious Swiss Challenge. For us it’s a chance to meet the man hoping to be next in line – Brinson Paolini – a decorated college golfer making his professional debut.

Not that the Duke graduate could boast the most glittering amateur career in the field however. That honour went to Korea’s Jin Jeong; a former Amateur Champion who rose to fame with a 14th place finish at the Open Championship in 2010.

All the action from Switzerland sits alongside highlights of the Mugello Tuscany Open, a tournament held in the shadow of the world-renowned Mugello racetrack.

A fortnight earlier Italians Andrea Pavan and Marco Crespi had tussled for the Bad Griesbach Challenge title in Germany, the former ultimately emerging on top by a single stroke. Now on home soil the pair takes time out from the heat of competitive golf to renew their rivalry – but this time on a racetrack.
