Three to Watch: Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A

The Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A returns to Club de Golf Alcanada this week for the conclusion of the 2025 Road to Mallorca. Here are three players to look out for…

Form horse: Julian Perico

Julian Perico

Julian Perico entered the Hangzhou Open sitting in 67th position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and needing a special performance if he was to climb into the top 45 and book his place at the season finale. The 25-year-old carded rounds of 67-67-67-70 to finish in a tie for second in the penultimate event of the campaign and catapult 40 places into 27th on the Rankings. Perico becomes the first player from Peru to tee it up in the Rolex Grand Final and will have set his sights on promotion to the DP World Tour.

Local boy: Sebastian Garcia

Sebastian Garcia returns to home soil in a buoyant mood having secured his maiden HotelPlanner Tour title at the recent Hangzhou Open. The Spaniard defeated Perico and Austrian Maximilian Steinlechner in a dramatic play-off at Hangzhou West Lake Golf Club and now sits in seventh position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings ahead of the season finale. The 35-year-old returned to the HotelPlanner Tour at the start of the season after losing his DP World Tour card, however after a victory and four additional top tens he looks set to return to Golf’s Global Tour at the first time of asking.

The Outsider: James Morrison

James Morrison

James Morrison, a two-time DP World Tour winner, ended a ten-year wait for a victory when he triumphed at the Blot Play9 on the HotelPlanner Tour earlier this season. The Englishman beat Ireland's Max Kennedy in a play-off at Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André and was proud to return to the winners’ circle after overcoming some mental challenges in recent seasons. The 40-year-old has 438 DP World Tour appearances to his name but currently sits in 36th position on the Rankings, and will need a strong finish in Mallorca if he is to regain his playing privileges.
