Robert MacIntyre and Bernd Wiesberger were locked together at the top of the leaderboard as the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA looked set for a dramatic conclusion.
Wiesberger entered the final day at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort one shot ahead of MacIntyre and extended his lead to three at one point but the Scot turned in a bogey free 32 to join him at 12 under.
Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal was charging through the field as he looks for a fifth European Tour title and he turned in 31 to sit just one shot off the lead.
German Max Schmitt and Austrian Matthias Schwab were then at nine under.
Wiesberger missed seven months last season with a wrist injury but is a four time European Tour winner, while European Challenge Tour graduate MacIntyre is looking for a first win in just his 15th event.
Larrazábal made a gain on the second but was soon three back as Wiesberger put his approach to ten feet at the first.
The chasing pack were gathering as Schwab hit an excellent tee shot to set up a birdie on the third but in the final group, Wiesberger holed from 25 feet on the third and the lead was up to three.
The Austrian's drive went just 156 yards on the fourth and he found trouble with his second and failed to hit the green with his third, surrendering a double bogey and the solo lead as MacIntyre put his second to five feet.
Larrazábal took advantage of the fifth and joined Schwab in a share of second, with ten players now within two of the lead.
The par five was clearly gettable and Schwab left himself just ten feet for eagle, getting down in two for a birdie and a share of the lead.
And there was soon a four way tie at the top when Larrazábal hit a stunning tee shot to leave himself four feet on the par three sixth.
MacIntyre played the fifth in textbook fashion to birdie from five feet, with Wiesberger also making a gain with an excellent up-and-down from the long grass after a poor second.
Wiesberger's bounceback from the double was complete at the sixth after his tee shot rolled off the bank to six feet to set up a second consecutive birdie.
Schwab dropped a shot on the sixth put picked it straight back up on the seventh, a hole also birdied by MacIntyre thanks to another excellent approach that gave him a share of the lead.
Schmitt was seemingly falling out of contention after bogeys on the first and fourth but he rattled off four birdies in a row from the fifth to surge back within two of the lead.
Larrazábal hit a poor tee shot on the par five eighth but recovered to make a birdie from 13 feet, with the leading duo both also making gains after hitting the green in two.
A wonderful approach to three feet on the ninth then helped Larrazábal turn in 31 and he was just one back.
Alejandro Cañizares, Romain Langasque and Chris Paisley were eight under, a shot clear of John Catlin.
