The final event of the 2021 Road to Mallorca will take place at T Golf & Country Club, Mallorca, from November 4-7 as the top 45 players on the Road to Mallorca Rankings battle it out for one of 20 European Tour cards on offer and a share of the €450,000 prize fund.

Meliá Palma Marina continues its association with the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final after also being the Official Hotel of the 2020 edition of the season finale, where Ondrej Lieser made history as the first player from the Czech Republic to win both the event and the season-long Rankings.

The hotel is an elegant urban resort with numerous food and beverage outlets, strategically located next to the seafront promenade in Palma with breath-taking views of the bay and the cathedral. The hotel also offers a 24-hour state of the art gym and the wonderful YHI Spa, containing seven treatment rooms, six massage rooms and a hydrotherapy area.

Founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca, Meliá Hotels International has more than 390 hotels open or in the process of opening in more than 40 countries under the brands Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Paradisus by Meliá, ME by Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, INNSiDE by Meliá and Sol by Meliá, plus a wide portfolio of affiliated hotels under the Affiliated by Meliá umbrella.

Its commitment to responsible tourism has earned Meliá recognition as the world’s most sustainable hotel company in 2019 (Gold Medal and Industry Mover award), and the second in 2020, according to the Sustainability Yearbook published by S&P Global.

As part of Meliá Palma Marina’s partnership with the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A, all tournament staff and international media will stay in their luxurious rooms during the week of the tournament, while the 45 players teeing it up at T Golf will be offered a special discounted rate.

Chris Atkinson, Championship Director of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Meliá Palma Marina for the second time after being so well-looked after in 2020.

“Meliá’s expertise and dedicated staff helped us to safely execute last year’s tournament within our Covid-19 bubble protocols and was a contributing factor to the success of the event.

“I would like to thank Meliá Hotels International for their support of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final and look forward to working with them over the coming weeks.”

José María Dalmau Domenech, Global Business Development VP at Meliá Hotels International, said: “It is a pleasure to accommodate the organisers and players of this year’s Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final. In addition to some other recent and upcoming events, an important and increasing demand of worldwide golf tourism leads Meliá Hotels International to a continuous growth and a highlighted position in the golf travel and competition industry.”
