Find out more about our Sustainability initiatives and our social impact.
At the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A we are committed to a more sustainable approach and on having a positive social impact on the local community. We are focussing on the following projects:
Several visits from local school children with education on what it takes to deliver a professional golf event, including clinics and time with Challenge Tour professionals
Green Drive on Hole 15 where 100 trees are planted for every time the green is driven
Beach clean at Playa Alcanada on Wednesday 1st November
Providing recycling bins at 42 different locations around the course and facilities
Recycling collection from leading Mallorcan waste management supplier
Providing water to players in renewable materials, made of cardboard and bioplastic packaging
Providing filtered drinking water fountains for spectators to refill their own bottle, reducing the amount of single use plastic on site
Pin flags made from upcycled ocean plastic waste
Reduction in accreditation passes to reduce single use plastic
Hospitality wristbands made from recycled materials and bamboo
Full transfer to digital ticketing and no paper tickets
A 50% reduction in staff hire cars and a thorough bus shuttle service for event stakeholders, to minimise the number of individual car journeys
