The Challenge presented by KGA: Three to Watch

The European Challenge Tour remains at Karnataka Golf Association in Bangalore for The Challenge presented by KGA. Here are our three men to keep an eye on this week…

Form horse

Scalise

Lorenzo Scalise has made a terrific start to the 2023 Road to Mallorca and currently sits in sixth position on the Rankings. The Italian recorded two top five finishes during the South African Swing before finishing in fourth place at last week’s Duncan Taylor Black Bull Challenge. The 27-year-old will be hoping to continue that good form as he targets a maiden European Challenge Tour title in Bangalore this week.

Local boy

Aman Raj (2)

Aman Raj posted rounds of 67-68-71-70 to finish in a tie for eighth on 12 under par at last week’s Duncan Taylor Black Bull Challenge. The Indian has already tasted victory this month at the TATA Steel PGTI’s Gujarat Open Golf Championship and he will be hoping to carry his good form into this week. Raj will look to become the second Indian winner on the Challenge Tour in as many weeks, after Om Prakash Chouhan secured a dramatic triumph at last week’s Duncan Taylor Black Bull Challenge.

The outsider

Dermot McElroy

Dermot McElroy has made an impressive start to life on the Challenge Tour after earning graduation from the PGA EuroPro Tour last season. The 29-year-old secured victory at the CPG Classic on his way to finishing third on the PGA EuroPro Tour’s Order of Merit and he is now searching for back-to-back promotions to earn DP World Tour playing privileges. The Northern Irishman finished in a tie for 21st at last week’s Duncan Taylor Black Bull Challenge and he will now be hoping to build on that performance this week.
