The European Tour has announced a new ticketing partnership with Eventbrite, the world’s largest event technology platform which powers two million events around the globe each year.
In 2016, the European Tour hosts 47 professional golf tournaments in 27 countries on the Race to Dubai and its new partnership with Eventbrite will make it easy for golf fans to buy all types of tickets, from spectator passes through to corporate hospitality, as well as providing the European Tour with entry management technology to support the different tournaments.
Tickets are available via: www.tickets.europeantour.com.
Tim Hunt, Head of Marketing for the European Tour, said: “We wanted a digital solution that would make it easy to buy tickets and gain access to all European tour events. Being able to use Eventbrite’s technology to understand the different data generated by events on this scale, including a birds eye view of where, when and how our tickets have been purchased across the world, is important to us in order to continually improve the experience for fans have when they attend our different events.”
Founded ten years ago to make professional ticketing accessible to organisers of events of all types and sizes, Eventbrite today processes around two million tickets a week. This week’s European Tour event, the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, is currently selling on Eventbrite.
Tim Hunt continued: “Golf fans plan their diaries well ahead, whether it is for one of our events on The Race to Dubai or an overseas Ryder Cup tour. They need to be able to reliably and securely book their tickets, whether on the go or from home. When they attend, fans expect all the basics and latest technology associated with major spectator sport events, such as buying and receiving their tickets on their phone and being sped through a fast and seamless check-in at the entrance.”
Eventbrite’s General Manager in the UK and Ireland, Joel Crouch said: “We’re delighted to be working with the team at the European Tour and are pleased that this iconic sporting organisation has chosen to use Eventbrite’s technology platform. We’re looking forward to helping the team make the most of the their rich data set, and delivering a better ticketing experience for golf fans across all the European Tour.”
