Biography

Magnus was one of the first Swedish golfers to make a name for themselves on The European Tour and was tipped to go straight to the top after turning professional at the tender age of 17 and successfully progressing through the 1982 Qualifying School Finals. Twice a runner-up on The European Tour, including when he lost out in a play-off to Seve Ballesteros in the Open Renault de Baleares in 1990, but has struggled over the past decade since losing his card at the end of the 1991 season. In 2001, however, on his 11th visit to the Qualifying School Finals in the past decade, Magnus regained his European Tour card. Has started to branch out into golf course design having created two courses, one in Sweden and one in Finland, with his father who is an architect.
