David Dixon extended his lead in the sixth and final round of The European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, playing the first seven holes in two under par.

The Englishman had birdies at the first and second holes to reach 20 under par, two shots ahead of compatriot Sam Hutsby, who was also two under after birdies at the third and seventh.

Three players were another two shots back at 16 under par – England’s Richard Bland, Spaniard Jordi Garcia and Bernd Ritthammer of Germany – but it was the Scottish duo of Gary Orr and Steven O’Hara making real strides.

Orr was seven under for his round through 15 holes, reaching 15 under and a share of sixth place, alongside O’Hara who was two under for the day following birdies at the eighth and ninth.

The top 30 and ties will gain a European Tour card for the 2012 season.
