After an intense and gruelling week at the Qualifying School Final Stage in Spain, 37 players emerged with plenty to look forward to as they secured their place in The European Tour 2012 International Schedule. Here’s what some of them had to say…

Joakim Lagergren

“Of course there was pressure, it was the last day of the final stage. I was a bit nervous at the beginning, then I got in the flow and I played really well. I wasn’t even close to making a bogey on the last nine so I felt comfortable. I really enjoyed it, it was good fun.
“I'm really tired mentally right now, physically it’s OK but mentally I'm tired, but now everything has just disappeared, I'm just really happy. I'm definitely going to celebrate.
“It feels unbelievable, great, so I'm really looking forward to 2012. It’s been a dream and a vision all my life so it finally comes true.”

Warren Abery

“It has been a rollercoaster, I got off to a good start in the first three rounds and then round four and five you feel like the tournament should be finished so you lose of lose focus but I came back nicely today to get it.
“I didn’t really put too much pressure on myself, if I didn’t get my card it’s not exactly a train smash, if I get my card it’s a bonus.
“It’s great to be back on Tour, I know what to expect now. It’ll be a little bit easier, going to venues that I've played before, a lot of South Africans on the Tour who I’m good friend with so it’ll be good fun.”

Agustin Domingo

“I don’t know what to say, I'm really happy. I was five under and needed a big one, I was only one under five to play, then made birdie on the fifth, sixth and an eagle on the seventh.
“I'm really looking forward to it, I've been trying really hard. I'm 30 years old already and last year was my first season on the Challenge Tour. I was on the Alps Tour for four or five years, trying to get up all the time and couldn’t. I'm really happy, time to celebrate and then concentrate on next year.”

Steven O’Hara

“I was quite nervous for some reason, obviously being the last round and all but I've been playing great, I've been hitting the ball better as the week’s gone on so that gave me good confidnce. I missed a couple of short puts today as well, I was a bit edgy on the greens but apart from that, I’m delighted.
“It was a disappointing year last year, I played really well and the problem was I was last in the putting stats, which is disappointing because I’m hitting the ball well but getting no results. Hopefully I can get it going a bit next year.

Reinier Saxton

“I will probably be happier tonight than I am right now, because to be honest it was a bit of a struggle today. I think I was quite tired towards the end, and in the end I was just relieved to get it done. It’s never nice to three-putt the last hole, but I’m just relieved it didn’t matter in the end.
“I was a bit upset at the time, but I’ll be over it soon because I’ve got a season on The European Tour to look forward to. I’ve got two weeks off now to rest and relax, and then I have to get going again. It’s great that all five Dutch golfers got their cards this week – we all know each other well, so it’ll be nice to travel and room together next year.”

Andy Sullivan

“I was a bit nervous this morning, if I’m honest. I felt the butterflies. But I felt ready to go and I really enjoyed it. It’s been a good year and this really tops it off. It’s nice to come through it at the first time of asking. I’m really happy.
“I haven’t had time to reflect yet and let it sink in. I’ll be enjoying the next couple of weeks and then will start thinking about my targets for next season.”

Matthew Southgate

“I’m just really pleased with how I held it together this week, because I’ve been in pain from my back and shoulders. It’s hard to commit to shots when you know they’re going to cause you pain, but the pain has definitely been worth it. I putted lovely all week, although it went a bit awry today, but that was probably because of the nerves.
“I’m just glad it’s all over now, and I can look forward to a nice rest and a great Christmas. Then I can start planning for The European Tour. My goal is to keep improving year on year, and if I can work hard and keep focused, I’m sure I’ll give a good account of myself next season.”
