There is always a perceptible tingle of anticipation each July with the imminent arrival of another Open Golf Championship. It is the oldest of the four Major Championships and one which has seen great success for European Tour Members over the years, most recently when Ernie Els triumphed at Muirfield in Scotland in 2002.

Former Champion Duval withdraws from 133rd Open Golf Championship
There was drama in the 133rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon before a ball was struck on the opening day with the news that American David Duval, the man who was Champion at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2001, has withdrawn from the tournament.
Albatross gives Evans great start in the Open Golf Championship
European Tour Member Gary Evans, the man who missed out on a play-off for the 131st Open Golf Championship at Muirfield in 2002 by a shot, made a spectacular start to the 133rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon, firing an albatross two at the 560 yard fourth on his way to a three under par 68.
Levet second as European Tour Members come to the fore at Royal Troon
Thomas Levet, who won The Barclays Scottish Open amidst emotional scenes at Loch Lomond last weekend, continued to flow on a wave of adrenalin as he led The European Tour challenge at the halfway stage of the 133rd Open Golf Championship at Royal Troon.
