Hole 1 - 18th - Par 4

Louis Oosthuizen has the honour. Iron off the tee but pulled it left. Fortunate bounce from the rough, however, took his ball back onto the fairway. Huge break. Manuel Quiros hits a hybrid and perfect shot, well past Oosthuizen. Wood also plays an iron and safely finds the fairway. Oosthuizen has 155 yards to go off a slight downslope and plays a lovely shot to about ten feet. Wood plays second and hits his approach to 25 feet while Quiros, closest to the green, hit his apprach through the back. Quiros chipped but the ball slipped by for a tap in four. Wood struck a good putt but the ball fell away at the end as he too made a par four. That left the stage to Oosthuizen and the Open Champion calmly stroked the birdie putt home to win the Africa Open title and get his 2011 off to the perfect start.
