Well, that was a fitting end to a strong week in the Middle East as Sergio Garcia stormed to play-off victory over Mikko Ilonen in the latest instalment of The European Tour's Race to Dubai. Great news that we'll be coming back to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters for the next three years too, and now it is next stop Dubai. His 11th European Tour victory in his 210th European Tour even

• Moves to second from fifth on The Race to Dubai with €741,475

• His first European Tour victory since the 2011 Andalucía Masters from Oct 27-Oct 30

• This is the 66th event he has played in since his last victory in 2011

• Finished tied second at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters last year, his best finish since his last win, alongside a tie for second at this season’s Nedbank Golf Challenge

• Becomes the second Spaniard to win this title after Alvaro Quiros in 2009

• Is the 15th different winner of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, in 17 stagings

• This is the ninth time he has played in this event and his sixth top-ten finish

• Began the day three shots behind the leading pair of Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Steve Webster

• His three shot comeback is the joint largest of the 2014 European Tour season, following on from compatriot Pablo Larrazábal last week at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship
