• His third European Tour International Schedule victory in his 65th official European Tour event.

• Moves to 2,395,787 points in the Race to Dubai.

• Could move to inside the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking, from 51st.

• His second European Tour victory of the 2016 season following the Nordea Masters.

• The sixth multiple winner of the 2016 season. They are: Alex Noren (Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, Omega European Masters, British Masters supported by Sky Sports and Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player), Charl Schwartzel (Alfred Dunhill Championship and Tshwane Open), Danny Willett (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Masters Tournament), Jeunghun Wang (Trophée Hassan II and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open), Henrik Stenson (BMW International Open and The 145th Open Championship) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (Nordea Masters and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai).

• The first time he has recorded multiple victories in the same season.

• Victory comes in his second appearance in the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

• His second consecutive top four finish in the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. Was fourth in 2015 and now first in 2016.

• Aged 22 years and 80 days becomes the youngest winner of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, beating the previous record of Rory McIlroy, who was 23 years and 205 days in 2012.

• Becomes the second Englishman to win the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, following Lee Westwood in 2009.

• Becomes the sixth different player to win the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

OTHER FACTS

• Aged 22 years and 80 days becomes the youngest Englishman to win his first three European Tour titles. This beats the previous best of Sir Nick Faldo, who was 22 years and 300 days, when he won his third European Tour event the 1980 Sun Alliance PGA Championship.

• Aged 22 years and 80 days becomes the youngest winner of a European Tour Final Series Event.

• The eighth official English victory of the 2016 season. They are: Danny Willett (Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Masters Tournament), Andrew Johnston (Real Club Valderrama Open de España hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation), Chris Wood (BMW PGA Championship), Matthew Fitzpatrick (Nordea Masters and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai), Anthony Wall (Aberdeen Asset Management Paul Lawrie Match Play) and Tyrrell Hatton (Alfred Dunhill Links Championship). (Justin Rose won the Olympic Men’s Golf Competition but is a European Tour Approved Special Event).

• Becomes the 309th English victory in European Tour history.

• Becomes the 19th winner this season to make up a final round deficit.

• Gains his largest European Tour prize of €1,217,174.

• Extends his European Tour exemption until the end of the 2021 season.

• Gains his third victory as a professional.
