Stars of film and television will be taking a break from delivering their lines to join the best golfers in the world for a day of unscripted competition at Wentworth Club on Wednesday May 23 for the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am.

Damian Lewis, who portrays the character Bobby Axelrod in the hit series Billions, returns to the West Course looking to improve on a third place finish in last year’s event, which is the curtain raiser to the BMW PGA Championship, the first of eight Rolex Series events on the European Tour.

Lewis has received international acclaim for his roles in Homeland and Band of Brothers, and last year joined 2016 BMW PGA Champion Chris Wood, as well as rowing legends Sir Matthew Pinsent and Sir Steve Redgrave, to finish with an impressive team score of 24 under par.

Making his debut in the event this year will be Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan. The Hollywood actor, who coincidentally hails from Holywood, Northern Ireland - also the hometown of four-time Major winner Rory McIlroy - has enjoyed a fine career on screen. In 2014, he earned a British Academy Television Award nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of serial killer Paul Spector in the BBC crime drama series, The Fall.

Adding to the cast of characters at Wentworth is Matthew Goode, who is best known for his depictions of Finn Polmar in The Good Wife, and Anthony Armstrong-Jones in the hit Netflix series The Crown. Goode has also been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture after their collective performance in the 2015 hit film Imitation Game was widely praised.

Returning to the Celebrity Pro- Am will be Mission: Impossible II, Enigma and The Woman in White star Dougray Scott. Last year, Scott joined 2016 Open Champion Henrik Stenson, tennis icon Greg Rusedski and Scottish rugby legend Gavin Hastings, as the team finished in second place on 26 under par.

Scott, Dornan and Goode will all be representing HUGO BOSS in the Celebrity Pro-Am, which has become a favourite with fans in recent years,

Several other film and television stars, including professional footballer-turned-actor Vinnie Jones of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch fame, as well as Skins actor, Luke Pasqualino will also be taking part in the event.

Tickets for the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am, plus all four days of the tournament, and weekend headline bands Rudimental and Simple Minds, are available here.
