Biography

Became the first Finn to be crowned Challenge Tour Number One in 2017, thanks mainly to his victory at the Kazakhstan Open. Had also topped the Rankings on the satellite Nordic Golf League in 2015, earning him a place on the Challenge Tour for 2016. Is known for wearing a trilby hat which he says was inspired by the captain’s choice of headwear at his home club. Was introduced to the game by his brother at the age of nine. Did not make his way in to the national side until he was 16, and then went on to become a national champion in his native Finland on multiple occasions. Says his earliest golfing memory was making a hole in one at the age of 12 – holing out from 164 yards with a five iron.
