| James Morrison | 6 |
Both players are happy with their tee shots on the first playoff hole - James Morrison will have 136 metres to the pin for his second shot whilst Alvaro Quiros will be playing his second shot from 113 metres. Both players are in the middle of the fairway. Morrison looks to have caught his second shot slightly heavy and he pulls it left into the water hazard. Quiros plays a stunning second shot almost pitching straight in the hole, eventually the ball settles 15 feet from the cup. Morrison's fourth shot from the drop zone from 78 metres ends up 30 feet past the pin. Morrison's putt for bogey misses on the high side and settles 18 inches past the cup and he taps in for a double bogey 6. Quiros 2 putts for par and is the first Spanish winner of the Open de Espana since Sergio Garcia was victorious in 2002.
