  18th - Par 4
 Jose Manuel Lara           4
 David Lynn           5

On the first playoff hole, the 18th, Jose Manuel Lara of Spain found the fairway while David Lynn of England ended up with a terrible lie just in front of a bunker in the right hand rough. For his second shot Lynn could only lay up on the fairway, while Lara, using a six iron found the centre of the green. Lynn's third shot found the green landing some 12 feet from the hole. Lars's third shot, a putt from 30 feet, stopped 3 feet from the cup. Lynn's fourth shot came up just short but he tapped in for a bogey five. Lara then holed his fourth shot for a birdie to win the Austrian GolfOpen presented by Botarin.
