Becomes the seventh player to record multiple WGC title. He follows: Tiger Woods (16), Geoff Ogilvy (three), Darren Clarke, Ernie Els, Hunter Mahan and Phil Mickelson, all with two.


• His winning total of 267 (-21) is the lowest winning total in the history of the WGC – HSBC Champions.

• The 277th English victory in European Tour history.

• The sixth English victory of the 2012 season. They are: Robert Rock (Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship), Justin Rose (WGC – Cadillac Championship), Luke Donald (BMW PGA Championship), Lee Westwood (Nordea Masters), Danny Willett (BMW International Open) and Ian Poulter (WGC – HSBC Champions).

• The second time that European Tour Members have won the same WGC event for three consecutive years, following Francesco Molinari (2010) and Martin Kaymer (2011). The first time was the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship by Geoff Ogilvy (2009), Ian Poulter (2010) and Luke Donald (2011).

• From his 13 seasons on The European Tour he has won in ten of them.

• Extends his European Tour exemption until the end of 2015.

• Moves over €17 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings.

• His 15th victory as a professional worldwide.

• The first former Challenge Tour Member to win two WGC events.

• Becomes the 22nd European Tour victory by a former Challenge Tour player on the 2012 European Tour from 41 events so far.
