Pro-Am done and dusted here at Wentworth where Ian Poulter, joined by Sir Ian Botham, Jamie Redknapp and Ian Wright, were our winners in the afternoon thanks to a five shot win and a total of 20 under par. Tied for second were the teams of 2006 BMW PGA Champion David Howell, and 2013 Open de Espana winner Raphael Jacquelin.
Meanwhile, in the morning half of the competition, Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher took the spoils alongside his pro-am partners with a 15 under par total, winning by a shot from two-time defending champion Luke Donald whose team finished a shot further back, while Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy were one more adrift.
And here's what Naga Munchetty, BBC journalist and Celebrity Mastermind Champion with a specialist subject of The Ryder Cup, had to say about her Pro-Am experience: "I've had a fantastic time. Alvaro's been the perfect gentleman, and he's been really good fun as he's happy to have the micky taken out of him as well as take the micky out of us, which has been great. I've played terribly, had that dreaded word, the 'shanks' at the beginning, but Alvaro was kind enough to come over and say, "I'll tell you if you want", and I said, "Please just tell me anything", and he just gave me a little hint to tweak things. And the company, Di and Jodie, they've been so much fun, and now, as I predicted, and I'm sure the weather department did too, the sun's coming out, and I feel great!"
