Gregory Bourdy and Joost Luiten will both have the chance to create a piece of Seve Trophy by Golf+ history on Sunday as they look to become the first players to win a maximum five points during the event.

The pair beat Jamie Donaldson and Marc Warren in the morning foursomes and Scott Jamieson and Chris Wood after lunch to continue their perfect record in the event.

Having teamed up to win four points out of four and help Continental Europe enter the final day level at 9-9 against Great Britain & Ireland, they will have to go it alone in Sunday’s singles as José María Olazábal’s side look to win the trophy for the first time since 2000 – with Luiten facing Tommy Fleetwood in the third game and Bourdy up against Scott Jamieson two matches later.

“We played really consistent,” said Luiten. “We didn't make really a lot of mistakes, a lot of pars. Especially in foursomes, that's pretty good and we made some birdies out there, as well.  I think we worked really well as a team together.”

Asked about the chances of creating history tomorrow, Bourdy added: “We will try our best, we will see tomorrow.

“We are very confident and we played very well today, especially on the end in this round. We will do our best and try to get another point for sure.

“I was so pleased to be on that team and I tried actually my best to get as many points as I could. We did a great job the last three days with Joost, so I'm very happy about that. I'm very proud to do that in front of the French crowd.”
